Welcome to the First Baptist Church of LaGrange! As a church family we are excited that you have taken time to review our Web site. We are a committed group of Christians and we endeavor to follow Jesus’ command and commission to go into the world and make disciples. We strive for excellence in ministry as we seek to embrace a gospel that is relevant for the whole person. Our congregation is growing and changing as we embrace and carry out our mission based on Christian values and principles that are biblically sound. Our vision is to build ministries that change lives, alter conditions and present Christ to all people.
In this global world we seek to be inclusive as we embrace our diversity within and the diversity of our society and community. As a faith community, we are a house of prayer for all people. Everyone is welcome! No matter what your background is or has been we believe in the power of God’s love shared through Christ Jesus who died to redeem us from our sins. At FBC, “Christ is Lord.” Rich, poor, young or old, our doors are open to you.
Through worship, study, prayer, fellowship, service and stewardship, individually and collectively, we learn of Him (God) and we serve this present age as we walk in love and forgiveness with each other. We are challenged by the social justice issues of our time and we affirm God’s call on our lives to minister in broken places. Through varied programs, ministries, activities, study and worship opportunities, we equip ourselves to respond rightly and justly, as God would have us to do.
The future of our church is promising as we seek to develop youth ministries, single ministries, family oriented ministries and ministries that will address and minister to the concerns of communities that have not always been welcomed into mainstream Christian groups. We consider FBC to be your church. We invite you to come and grow with us through your commitment to Christ, church membership, stewardship, involvement and participation.
FBC of LaGrange exists for the purpose of building up the body of Christ even as you seek to grow and prosper in Him. Jesus said, “I have come that you may have life and have it more abundantly” (John 10:10). Join us in this quest for experiencing God’s grace and His abundance.
As Senior Minister responsible for shepherding God’s flock, I would love to personally meet and greet you. If you are new to the community, give us a call or stop by to visit us in worship, work or play. I am delighted to have shared this brief but important message with you. I do believe that a visit will challenge you to continue on your personal spiritual pilgrimage as you seek to do God’s will.
If you have a prayer request, please call and let our ministerial staff pray with and for you. God’s blessings are with you always!
In the Service and Power of Our Lord!
Peace!
The Rev. Dr. Dennis A. Haggray
