Ministries and Music

Music Ministry

Music is one of the cornerstones of life at First Baptist Church. Through leadership and the dedication of various groups, enrichment is provided to worship, in concerts and other special occasions.

First Baptist Church is proud to be a life member of the Fellowship of American Baptist Musicians (FABM). Members of the Music Department attend the annual FABM Conference for Church Musicians at Green Lake, Wisconsin.

Join Us As We Reach Out To Serve Others

“Go and make disciples…”

The doors of our Church are always open to anyone – whether that be on Sunday mornings or throughout the week. Either in person, on the phone or via email, we are there for you.

Missions endeavor is the heart of the church as affirmed in the Holy Scriptures. Therefore, it is our desire at First Baptist to reach out to others through a wide range of activities from local to worldwide. Serving others can vary from caring for an elderly neighbor, offering help to a busy mother or raising money through an all-member canvas to help in an international crisis.

First Baptist Church is highly involved in local communities. Our Church gives to and supports many programs and community-based organizations throughout the year. For some of us, providing guidance to individuals through spiritual prayer and support is our strongest capability. Other community outreach programs are more public and are held within and without our Church facility. These include special services, seasonal dinners, musical concerts, walk-a-thons, sponsorship of community organizations within our building and our Cub Scout Pack and Boy Scout Troop. Many of these activities are fun to plan and attend while doing His work.

Our mission is truly worldwide since we join other American Baptist churches (and occasionally other religious groups) to provide help in many ways, including improving sanitation, establishing schools, working to improve farming, working to improve medical care, etc. Our financial contributions and prayers help support 137 missionaries in 30 countries. We strive to do our part in supporting these missionaries who so often give up what we consider basic necessities in order to serve others.

Top of the Hill

Young adults and middle-age members who call themselves the “Top of the Hill” group are actively engaged in all of the Church’s ministries and events.

They organize social activities and outings and participate in mission outreach for the surrounding community. This group also offers support and friendship to one another.

All activities organized by TOTH are open to the entire Church membership, family and friends.

Education

  • Christian education for children and adults is a core value at First Baptist Church.
  • With the Bible as basis, we endeavor to enlighten all souls to God’s love and our Savior, Jesus Christ.
  • In addition to our regular Sunday morning classes, we promote independent study and prayer.  We also offer periodic series of mid-week Bible studies on a wide range of topics.
  • We strive to reach out and equip all to become soldiers of Christ in faith, love and care.
